Adult Development Center Of Benton Co., Inc.
| Last updated on May 19, 2008 |
We are a non-profit organization that serves adults with disabilities in Northwest Arkansas. We serve by fostering independent living through the development of life, work, and social skills; preparing clients to become a part of, rather than apart from, the community; and providing opportunities for a more fulling and and productive life.
Description:
ADC offers services to adults with disabilities through instruction in daily living skills and opportunities for socialization, employment skills training and job placement services when appropriate. This is accomplished through the sheltered workshop and individualized classes. We operate in partnership with local business and industry by providing an off-line work force who produce a quality product. In turn for the work performed clients earn a piece rate paycheck which provides a supplemental income. The ADC is licensed by Developmental Disabilities Services and Arkansas Rehabilitation Services. We operate 6 bus routes each day bringing our clients from their homes to work since the majority of individuals do not drive. Approximately 90 to 110 clients participate in the program daily.
History:
ADC began operation for 12 individuals in 1975 using First Christian Church Rogers as its original home. Since that time the program has grown in scope and numbers to 100 clients with its own building. We serve persons from both Benton and Washington Counties.
