Attention all trail enthusiasts: it is time to expand your knowledge about level 2 and 3 trail maintenance. Please join Al Knox and various park staff as we upgrade our trails. We will meet at the Maintenance Complex to have a brief discussion about our current trail conditions and how these can be corrected. Our intentions are to educate and implement a “sluff and cup” trail condition that has become evident since the major water events that we have endured this past spring. These trail conditions are normal ware and tear concerns that will become persistent pests if they are neglected for much longer.
We encourage all Adopt- A Trail leaders, their teams and other trail users to join us for a quick lesson in what to look for on the trails. Due to the size of the trail system, we will break into teams and hit the trails fixing problems as we need to along our intended routes. We need to address these trail issues before they degrade into a condition in which the trails will need to be re-routed or severely reworked.
Please provide your own: lunch, water and snacks and be ready to travel.
Ability to walk on uneven terrain. Must carry tools, water, and food on person as the work site may be miles from vehicles. This opportunity is sponsored by: Hobbs State Park- Conservation Area
