Our mission is to empower and support families to raise all their children to reach their full potential. We encourage special families, professionals, and other community members to join in making this a reality.

Description:
The Association for Special Children and Families(ASCF) is a private, not for profit community organization established in 1978 by families of children with special needs. These needs include the full range of disabilities.

For school-age children, our Special Times Program provides recreational and social activities for special children such as; Music Therapy, Creative Arts, Gymnastics, Indoor Soccer and Basketball, Gymnastics, Social Skills, Discovery Saturday Science and Summer Camp Week. There is always something new in the works.

For the little ones (age 2 - 3), ASCF offers H.E.L.P.S. (Helping Early Language and Play Skills). The program offers socialization groups to develop the child's social and communication skills as well parent education and support.

ASCF provides Parent Trainings, Workshops and Support Groups. We offer a variety of Parent Support and Special Education Advocacy to families in Passaic County who have school-age children with disabilities.

History:
ASCF began it's work 30 years ago and is still going strong. We have been recognized and given Awards over the years by the S. Whitney Landon Memorial Friend of Children Award, NJ Statewide Parent Advocacy Network Parent Professionals and the Learning Disabilities Association of America Proud Projects awards. The Agency responds to the changes to its population as necessary and is always working hard to support the needs of special children and their families.
