To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Description:
The Greater Maryland Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, which is based in Timonium, serves 19 counties. We offer supportive services to families and caregivers through Respite Programs, Support Groups, Helpline, Safe Return Program, Emergency Assistance and Care Coordination.
We offer education of families, health professionals and the public in the form of seminars, workshops, and conferences. We are advocates for improved public policy and needed legislation. We support and cooperate with Alzheimer's disease research.
History:
The Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland Chapter, is a local affiliate of the national Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, Inc. has been the areas leader in services, education, advocacy and research activities since 1980.
