We are a partnership between city staff, neighborhoods and volunteers to enhance the quality of life in our city.
Description:
Located in the Redevelopment Agency, 1313 5th Avenue, downtown San Rafael, the City of San Rafael Volunteer Program encompasses the entire City. Its purpose is to recruit, train and recognize volunteers to help in various departments within City Hall as well as for community projects and events in San Rafael.
History:
Started in 1996 when neighborhood leaders asked the City to provide someone to coordinate the various community projects that took place around town. It has grown to encompass over 1800 volunteers annually who contribute more than 65,000 hours of service.
