The Lord's Place is dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing innovative, compassionate and effective services to men, women and children in our community.

Description:
The Family Campus provides emergency and permanent-supportive housing for homeless families with children. The two programs are located in West Palm Beach. Each offers support services designed to address the issues that led to the family's homelessness. Units are fully furnished and food is provided through an on-site pantry. Families work with staff to develop a service plan and budget for saving money. Life skills seminars for adults and tutoring for children are also offered.

The Men's Campus provides three separate programs on one campus located in Boynton Beach. The Recovery Center houses 30 single men with substance abuse issues. Operation Jumpstart is a day program for chronically homeless men. Joshua House provides permanent supportive housing to 20 single men dealing with substance abuse issues and committed to changing their lives.

Cafe Joshua, offers a wide variety of services such as employment assistance including job coaches and job placement, eye and dental care, a legal clinic, life skills seminars, haircuts, and even items many of us take for granted like soap and shampoo. Cafe Joshua offers a daily, three-course meal prepared by a certified executive chef. Guests are waited upon by a group of caring volunteer table servers. Our guests even share their meal with a volunteer table companion.

The Chef's Apprentice program for formerly homeless individuals serves as job training site, employing formerly homeless individuals.

The Lord's Place Thrift store features, furniture, bedding, house wares, clothing and accessories. Our residents and guests are referred to the Thrift Store when they need to obtain clothing, furniture or household items free of charge. All store proceeds go directly to the operating costs of all of the programs at The Lord's Place.

All services are provided free of charge.

History:
For more than 25 years, The Lord's Place has been opening doors to those who have had their doors closed at the worst time in their lives. The Lord's Place began as a modest soup kitchen in 1979. Today, it is one of South Florida's most innovative, cost-effective and successful shelter programs.
