MISSION: Independent Living Inc. is a nonprofit, multi-service agency that assists older adults and people with disabilities, enabling them to live with dignity and independence and to maintain health and well-being.
VISION:
Independent Living, Inc. is a leading provider of high quality, innovative and cost-effective community-based services to older adults and people with disabilities. Achievement of our mission is accomplished through:
- Development and provision of quality housing, home health care and in-home services that respond to existing and emerging needs of our community with emphasis on services to low income people.
- Serving as an educational and informational resource on aging and independent living.
- Recruitment, training and retention of volunteers and a quality professional workforce.
- Promotion and support of employees and volunteers as important organizational assets.
Description:
Independent Living, Inc. provides in-home services including Home Care/Respite, Home Chore, Home Share, Home Safety Modification, Financial Management and Counseling, and volunteer services including Evening Meals on Wheels, Kibble on Wheels, Telephone Reassurance, Friendly Visiting, Chore Corps and Health Advocates. Independent Living also has developed and continues to manage affordable, service-supported housing at the Independent Living Retirement Community and Segoe Gardens Assisted Living in Madison, at McKee Park Apartments in Fitchburg and at Olympic Village Condominiums in Sun Prairie.
History:
Independent Living, Inc. has been serving older and disabled adults in Dane County for 30 years.
