The Florida Resource Center for Women and Children, Inc. is dedicated to empowering families to become self-sufficient and independent citizens in our society. Our mission is to provide battered women and children the opportunities for positive life changes, personal growth, esteem building, education, technical assistance, policy and leadership development.
Description:
Florida Resource Center for Women and Children, Inc. serves as advocates for battered women and children by providing safe emergency shelter, food, clothing, rent and utility assistance, case management, individual and group counseling, therapeutic counseling, support groups, educational programs, employment assistance, legal assistance (attorney and paralegal on-site), women's health care education and patient navigation, children's programs, children's educational programs in schools/after-school programs, lethality assessments and safety planning. We are an agency that is dedicated to helping, healing and creating a society in which violence against women and children no longer exists.
History:
Florida Resource Center for Women and Children, Inc. was founded in 1999 by individuals who have over 30 years working with victims of domestic violence. To date, we have served over 12,000 victims of domestic violence by providing them with opportunities to lead a safe and violence-free lifestyle.
