Description:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County is a guidance-based organization for youth ranging from ages six to sixteen. Programs are designed to provide reinforcement of the skills and concepts that are being developed in school with programs that are age specific. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County offers a broad range of after school programs in five core areas: Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Fine Arts; Health and Life Skills; and Sports Fitness, and Recreation. Annual membership is $15 and financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
History:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County has provided a positive and safe after school environment for youth since 1971 when the first Club opened in Valparaiso. The Duneland Unit was established in October 2006 with the help of the Chesterton First United Methodist Church.
