Our mission is to provide an environment in which all that occurs is directed toward improving the quality of each adult's life. We accomplish this by treating every participant with the highest level of dignity and respect - regardless of financial, physical, emotional, social, or mental impairments. We pledge to encourage, laugh with, and support our participants - and their families - with structured activities, nurturing relationships, and professional care for body, mind and spirit.
Description:
St. Agnes Adult Day Center opened in 1997. We are a not-for-profit, non-denominational facility serving adults who require health care monitoring and socialization. We give caregivers a break from their caregiving. Participants in our program are usually over 60 years of age. however each case wouold be individually determined based on other admission criteria. We use a real life approach to our program, creating opportunities to allow participants to exercise abilities and continue life tasks for which they previously took for granted. Our program is structured, yet allows for individual activity that is meaningful to our participants and will give them a sense of personal satisfaction.
History:
Monsignor Charlebois had a dream to build an adult day center where adult members of our community could come together to reminisce, sing, and feel productive through activities. In August of 1997 his dream became a reality. We opened with one guest and two staff. Today we have nine employess on staff and eighty five trained volunteers who provide care and safety for twenty five to thirty five guests each day.
