Churches, schools, neighborhood groups, service organizations, corporations, banks, retailers, and individuals (homeowners or renters) are encouraged to do what they can to create "extraordinary spaces in everyday places."
Creating pride in our community is the underlying theme of America In Bloom, and doing so is very easy. Plant some flowers or shrubs...even trees. Add some garden art to an existing garden and make sure your grounds are well-tended. If you have neighbors who could use your help in creating their own extraordinary spaces, please lend your time, skills and energy to them.
Materials (plants, potting soil, fertilizer, containers and gardening equipment) will be available on a limited basis sometime in April and/or May. Please check www.mc-americainbloom.com frequently for updates on this.
Judges from the national America In Bloom organization will be in Michigan City in late June and/or early July to review our efforts.
It is our goal to have the entire community looking as beautiful as possible.
