 Buckley Homestead Historic Living Farm in Lowell Indiana is in need of historic interpreters. The month of May is very busy with school tours. You may shadow staff the first week of May. Once you feel comfortable, we will need you to interpret your building. Buildings include: 1850 Log Cabin, 1900 One-room school house, and 1916's Farm yard. All training materials and historic clothing is supplied. Historic interpretation booklet will be given to you ahead of time. You will meet with Buckley staff and be given a general tour and instruction prior to starting in May. This position requires walking and being out in the elements. The buildings are not heated/air-conditioned. This opportunity is sponsored by: Lake County Parks

Buckley Homestead is located off of Route 2 in Lowell. It is approximately 4 miles west of I-65 and 6 miles east of State road 41.
From Rt. 2 you will turn south onto Hendricks Road. Go 1/2 mile to the parking lot on the eastside of the road. Park and follow the gravel trail on the south side of the white visitors center. You will cross the road into the orchard. Follow the path towards the Farm House. You will be meeted there. |
