MANY LAPORTE COUNTY ELDERLY OR HANDICAPPED RESIDENTS NEED YARD WORK [MOWING, RAKING, PICK-UP, ETC.]DONE IN THE SPRING, SUMMER, AND FALL, BUT ARE NOT ABLE TO DO IT THEMSELVES AND HAVE NO ONE TO HELP THEM.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES RECEIVES MANY REQUESTS FOR THIS KIND OF ASSISTANCE, BUT DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS TO TAKE CARE OF THESE REQUESTS.
THIS IS A GOOD VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE THE DAY AND TIME OF THE VOLUNTEER SERVICE IS ENTIRELY UP TO THE VOLUNTEER. IT'S ALSO AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO GET YOUR CHILDREN AND FAMILY INVOLVED IN VOLUNTEERISM; THEIR PARTICIPATION WILL HELP THEM REALIZE HOW REWARDING IT CAN BE TO CARE FOR THEIR NEIGHBORS AND ASSIST OTHERS IN THEIR COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEER TOGETHER AND EVERYONE WINS.

I do vision screening, ramp building, mailings and any other stuff that comes along that I would be interested in. Helping others makes you realize how lucky you are and how many people are in need posted on July 17, 2006 |
