CURRENTLY WE TURN DOWN APPROXIMATELY A DOZEN REQUESTS A MONTH BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS ARE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST! Pass on a good deed which you've received from someone.
One of RSVP's major goals is to assist the elderly or physically handicapped remain safely and securely in their homes. We receive a wide range of requests from these people who need small things done in order to remain in their home in a safe environment.
RSVP can offer you an opportunity to pay back a past favor by volunteering a couple hours per month to assist these residents who might only require someone to perform a minor task which would improve their quality of life.
Individuals, church groups, youth groups, community groups,service organizations, and even families could volunteer to assist these people @ the volunteer or volunteer groups' convenience. The volunteer team approach in assisting residents could certainly ensure the success of this program.
The greatest need seems to be in the following areas:
*Yard clean-up [mowing, trimming, raking]
*Snow removal
*Rain gutter clean-up
*Rides to appointments, pharmacies, groceries
*Window washing
*Minor cleaning
DONATE A COUPLE HOURS A MONTH TO KEEP OUR ELDERLY SAFELY IN THEIR HOMES.
