Catholic Charities would like the opportunity to talk with you about “Homeward Bound,” Indiana’s 5K walk for homeless and housing issues. Did you know that every year 100,000 Hoosiers are homeless and that 60% of those homeless are children? It’s true, and Catholic Charities is committed to preventing homelessness not only through emergency assistance, but also through our housing counseling self-sufficiency training. The support of our community is crucial to the success of our homeless prevention programs. Last year, the “Homeward Bound” walk accomplished two very important goals – increased participation by the community-at-large and strengthened communication among the local organizations regarding client service delivery. Finally, for many of the 80+ participating groups, this walk represented their most successful fundraising effort ever. We would like to talk with you about supporting Catholic Charities homeless prevention programs by participating in this year’s Homeward Bound walk. The Northwest Indiana walk held in Michigan City it takes place on April 23rd, 2006.
Any willing individual is welcome to participate. Good leadership skills will be helpful. A real commitment to homeless Prevention is a MUST! Thank you for your interest. This opportunity is sponsored by: Catholic Charities - LaPorte County
