The Tacoma Events Commission creates wonderful and lasting memories through production and management of several family-oriented community events in Pierce County.
Description:
Producer of Tacoma's annual 4th of July festival, Freedom Fair, for over 20 years. Recruited to produce the award-winning Tall Ships Tacoma 2005, and created the Daffodil Festival in conjunction with the annual Grand Floral Parade in Tacoma. The Tacoma Events Commission's all-volunteer board strives to provide the best in entertainment and family activities at multiple events with the help of community volunteers.
History:
The Tacoma Events Commission was created over 20 years ago to ensure that Tacoma's 4th of July celebration was a family-oriented, community-inclusive event. Over the years, Tacoma Events Commission has also accepted the call to produce the wildly successful Tall Ships festival in 2005, and works with the producers of the Daffodil Parade in Tacoma to put on the Daffodil Festival to attract locals and visitors to downtown Tacoma. Our all-volunteer board of directors, under the guidance of executive director Doug Miller, strives to ensure there is something for everyone at each event, creating life-long memories along the way.
