Our mission is to serve as a fundraising enterprise for Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity home building projects. The ReStore: A Home Improvement Outlet will recycle overstocked, discontinued, new and gently used items donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors, and individuals. These donated items will be sold to the public or used in Habitat for Humanity house construction. Revenue from sales go to the local affiliate in support of its home building program.
Description:
The ReStore is a home improvement outlet benefiting Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build affordable housing in partnership with families in need. Our ability to save, sell or reuse unwanted materials benefits our community and environment by keeping these items out of the local landfills. Proceeds from the ReStore help Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity build decent, affordable homes for families in Pierce County. Our goal is not only to raise money for new homes, but to make home improvements affordable for all of our neighbors. By supplying new and gently used materials at reduced prices, the ReStore offers the public the opportunity to save money while improving their own homes and neighborhoods.
History:
The ReStore is quite new, and about to celebrate its one year anniversary in May. So far we have raised enough money to build 3 houses!
