The mission of Tacoma Public Schools is to guarantee that each student will attain the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that lead to a self-sufficient, socially responsible life to the best of his or her individual potential.
Description:
The School, Family & Community Partnership Program works to build greater awareness of the role parents and community play in supporting the curriculum of the District and, in turn, helps to raise student achievement. We work with each school volunteer coordinator to help them support their school programs. Our goal is to connect resources that will supplement and enrich the activities of the District and meet the needs of students and staff. As a volunteer, your services will enable our schools to provide a more enriching experience for all children.
History:
For more than 30 years, Tacoma Public Schools has had an organized volunteer program. We encourage our families and community to actively participate in our schools in whatever way they can. We look forward to having you as a member of our team!
