The mission of the Bread of Life Food Bank is to provide temporary food and other services in a compassionate, Christian manner to needy families and individuals associated with Lake City Community Church and its surrounding area. Bread of Life, as part of the evangelistic mission of LCCC, will communicate a clear gospel message. Our goal is that everyone who enters the food bank will feel safe, accepted and loved.

Description:
We provide an innovative approach to distributing food which allows our clients the dignity of choice in providing for their families. Volunteers pick up food from donor businesses throughout the week and sort it into storage containers. On Thursdays the food is put out by categories and clients make choices within set limits from each category.

History:
Started in 1994 in a driveway, the BOL food bank has grown steadily through the years servicing the Lakewood neighborhood called Lake City. Lake City Community Church took up the effort in 1996 and now houses the food bank it it's new youth facility.
