Description:
Comprehensive prevention program to help girls ages 5 - 17 develop their potential, build self-confidence, and learn leadership skills in a safe all-girl environment. Most girls are served by troops that are organized locally with committed adult volunteer leaders. Many girls are served each year by paid staff in outreach efforts or in other high-risk situations.

History:
Girl Scouts of the USA started in 1912. Girl Scouts of Western Washington was formed from a merger of Totem Council (northern counties) and Pacific Peaks Council (southern counties)as of October 1, 2007. GSWW now serves 17 counties in all of Western Washington.
