History:
The Library System (Updated as of 7/07) Pierce County Library System is an independent municipal corporation established under the Revised Code of Washington 27.12. The Library is a junior taxing district funded from a separate property tax levy. The Library System serves unincorporated Pierce County and the annexed cities and towns of Bonney Lake, Buckley, Dupont, Eatonville, Graham, Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Milton, Orting, South Hill Puyallup, Steilacoom, Sumner, Summit, Tillicum, and University Place. Library usage has continued to increase and diversify through the system's history. Our library materials include items for loan, including books, video tapes, DVDs, CD's, DVD's, cassettes, talking books, and periodicals.
