Oasis is a drop-in center for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning (GLBTQ) youth. We give teens and young adults a safe place to hang out, meet others, and learn about life. Oasis is a program of the Pierce County AIDS Foundation.
Description:
Oasis is for youth 14-24 who are GLBTQ identified. Our drop-in center is open from 4-10 on Thursdays and 4-12 on Fridays. The first Saturday of each month from 6-10 pm is BUST, our women's program.
History:
Oasis was formed in 1988 by a group of concerned citizens, as a measure to help youth with alternative sexualities and gender identities live and grow in modern society. Oasis was first located within downtown Tacoma, Washington.
