Purpose/ Mission: Our mission is "to create and strengthen healthy communities through the provision of quality, affordable, service enriched housing for individuals and families who are economically poor".
Description:
Tahoma View has 50 apartments providing housing and services to approximately 125 children, men and women, seniors and a small developmentally disabled population. Services include afterschool programs for youth, adult and family programs and services. Bingo Night, Ladies Night, Family Night, Single Moms Support Group and Singles Group.
History:
Mercy Housing System started over 20 years ago. In 1990 four Catholic Women religious orders In Western Washington began a collaboration to respond to the crisis of homelessness and founded Intercommunity Housing. In 1993 Intercommunity Housing became a part of the Mercy Housing System. Tahoma View Apartments was opened in 1998.
