Join Us for a Restoration Event on the Clover Creek Reserve in Pierce County
When: June 7, 2008 from 10 am to 1 pm
Where: the Clover Creek Reserve in Pierce County (directions below)
About the Property and Event:
Clover Creek Reserve is an example of woodland prairie, an increasingly rare landscape in Pierce County. When it was acquired in the mid-1990s, blackberry brambles prevented native plants from growing along the creek. Volunteers will participate in an on-going restoration project to improve stream-side habitat by returning the banks of the creek to native vegetation. Specific tasks will include placing cardboard on former blackberry patches and applying mulch.
What to bring: Boots, work clothes, rain gear, and a water bottle. Snacks and drinks provided.
Clover Creek Reserve is located on Johns Street E, Tacoma, WA 98445.
Other upcoming events: The next Clover Creek Reserve work party will take place on July 12, 2008, from 10 am to 1 pm.
