The mission of Families & Friends of Violent Crime Victims is to support and advocate for victims of violent crime; adult missing persons, and their loved ones; and to provide education about victim's rights and services.

Description:
Crime victims, their families and their friends deal with more than just feelings of pain grief and anger; they must also cope with the complicated and often impersonal criminal justice system. Families & Friends is one of the oldest advocacy and support groups in Washington and one of the first groups in the nation.

We offer services to crime victims and their loved ones throughout Washington state, regardless of case status. Our services are offered free of charge.

History:
Families & Friends formed on February 25, 1975 when 20 people gathered in a church auditorium in Seattle to discuss their experiences. They represented families of young women who had mysteriously disappeared in the Northwest during the previous year. Some of the young women later became known victims of serial killer Ted Bundy and other known serial killers.

It was a positive, and rewarding volunteer experience.

I was treated by professional, empathetic, and hardworking people as another professional person who was there to do a job. All of the agency personnel were friendly and informative.I felt very positive about being there to help out in this very worthwhile endeavor.
