The Board of Directors for Village Community Services (VCS) is composed of eleven members from all types of backgrounds and affiliations. We are looking for new board members to join and be involved in helping people with disabilities. The current members are a dynamic group, some of which are parents of program participants in both the vocational and residential service programs. The work is interesting and fun and board meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Board members participate in: 1) Non-profit governance; 2) policy decisions regarding people with disabilities; 3) learning about the full spectrum of conditions related to people with disabilities and; 4) advocacy, community relations, and resource development. In addition to the board member skills delineated below, we hope to recruit at least one board member who is interested in helping connect VCS's Village Music and Arts program to the greater arts community. |
