Summer is rapidly approaching and school will be out in a just a few months. At Cocoon House that means we are gearing up for our summer Life-Skills Program. With the teens out of school, we do not want them to waste away their days.

We all have LIFE SKILLS to share, come spend two hours helping homeless youth develop into functional adults!

We are currently seeking volunteer instructors to teach theses classes:

The Art of Creative Writing/Journaling
Budgeting & Sticking to it!
Meal Planning & Nutrition on a budget!
Public Speaking Skills
Interpersonal Communication Skills
Study Tips & Tricks

Academic Paths and Options
Alternative Career Choices
AND MANY MANY MANY MORE... THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!

Life-Skills are presented on a daily basis and are required for all residents at Cocoon House. Through this program we aim to teach the teens basic skills that are necessary for a functioning adult life. We aim to have a full program of two hour sessions from 9:00am – 11:00am each weekday from June 24th through August 28th.

Volunteers must be over the age of 21, willing to fill out a volunteer application and EXCITED TO HELP HOMELESS YOUTH DEVELOP LIFE-SKILLS!
