Volunteer Solutions

United Way of Southeastern Connecticut serves all of New London County. For more than 40 years we have worked to find solutions that bring people and organizations together that strengthen our community. Through our network of partner programs we provide a safety net of services meeting the health and human service needs of more than 140,000 local people.

The Gemma E. Moran United Way Labor Food Center in New London is a time-tested partnership between United Way and organized labor. It has become the premier anti-hunger program in Southeastern Connecticut. The Food Center provides free food to food distribution sites that serve meals and snacks to the hungry. Project Warm-Up, a home heating assistance program, is another hallmark of United Way's efforts to serve the community.

United Way encourages volunteerism as a way for people to get involved in the community in which they live, work and play. Through Day of Caring, United Way helps match groups of corporate volunteers with nonprofit agencies in our local area. And now, through Volunteer Solutions, anyone with a group or individually can find volunteer opportunities that match their interests online, anytime of day or night.

The system is easy to navigate. Agency registration is quick and will provide exposure to your group, the needs in the community, and your services. As a potential volunteer, you can find a meaningful, rewarding way to make a difference in the social issues that matter to you.
