Our vision is to be the premier agency in Eastern CT for the provision of quality and cost effective services for individuals with disabilities. Our mission is to advance the independence and full citizenship of people with disabilities.
Description:
United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern CT has been serving the community for over 50 years. Currently it is providing two community experience programs with over 35 individuals attending regularly. A supported living program serving over 50 individuals as they live independently within the community. An Outreach Program which provides resources, advocacy and case management serving well over 100 people on annual basis. It also offers a toy lending library for children with disabilities living in Eastern CT.
History:
United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern CT was founded in 1947 to support children with cerebral palsy. With mainstreaming of all students the Little White School House that United Cerebral Palsy operated was closed. In the 1990's the agency became focused on individualizing community based services to meet the needs and choices of the individual for adults. This has become the strength of the agency in pursuit of supporting our mission to advance the independence and full citizenship of people with disabilities.
