Our mission is to provide inspiring, meaningful, cross-cultural arts experiences and training that promote youth and community development.
Description:
A growing SE Michigan ethnic-cultural arts provider, African Dance Works (ADW) provides resources on ethnic art forms of Africa and its Diaspora for youth, families, and artists. Our programs include after-school programs, workshops, presentations, network development, and educational materials. We believe that urban landscapes reflect inner landscapes. When we see the abandoned homes, vacant lots, and deep divides in our commmunities, we are concerned about the inner lives of our youth and families. ADW develops and implements programs that facilitate the development of rich and vibrant inner lives through the exploration of ethnic-cultural arts and traditions.
