Make a difference in the life of a child! Mentors are matched one-on-one with a middle school student in Ann Arbor. You will meet with him or her at least once a week after school (2:50-4:00 PM) in addition to attending monthly family events and extra-curricular activities together. Mentors come alongside their children to help them: 1) Make informed and positive choices about personal behavior and friends, 2) Develop awareness of personal learning styles, talents, skills, 3) Understand and succeed in the "school system", and 4) Promote "world of work" exploration. You must attend an orientation before beginning, as well as a monthly training seminar. We also require a minimum of a one year commitment. This opportunity is sponsored by: Michigan Reach Out!
