The Border Book Festival and the Cultural Center de Mesilla are looking for regular volunteers to help at our bookstore/Cultural Center in Mesilla on the weekends, Friday-Saturday 10-5 pm and Sunday 11-5 pm. Shifts are available. Also, we need ushers and volunteers for the 2009 festival, April 17-19, 2009 as well as throughout the year to assist with special readings, workshops, lectures and fun events for children and adults. All ages welcome. Come with an open heart, a sense of humor and a willingness to learn and help community. Volunteers will be given an orientation session and learn about the organization through reading materials and on site volunteer work. Bilingual English/Spanish volunteers are appreciated and those who love books and art. We will train you and make you a part of our literary family.
