An important part of Camino de Vida’s program is education for all of the people of our community. The Library of Camino de Vida is designed to improve access to HIV/AIDS-related materials for clients, the affected community and their caregivers. The library, funded by the National Library of Medicine, houses a wealth of information regarding HIV/AIDS and other related issues. There are a wide range of subjects in print, including safe sex, high-risk behaviors, STD’s, co-infection, disclosure, treatment issues, grief and loss, death and dying, anger issues and management, exercise and nutrition, relaxation and stress management, family planning, legal issues and money management. Books may be checked out for two weeks at a time.
Another important service that is available to our clients and guests is an Internet-accessible computer, which allow further research into the disease and the disease process. Computer can be used on a first-come first-served basis. Library hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. |
