Description : Helps children and adults learn to cope with changes and emotions by providing information and assistance such as: Support groups for children and grandparents Referrals for * Legal Assistance * Guidance and education * Financial Assistance * Medical Service for Children and seniors * Housing Activities and social events Grand parenting classes to improve communication between custodial grandparents and their grandchildren GRANDPARENT'S SUPPORT GROUP Is held the first Tuesday of every month at Peace Lutheran Church, 1701 E. Missouri Ave., Corner of Missouri and Locust. Time: 6:00pm-7:00pm. Translator if requested. Daycare is provided. Transportation is provided if requested two days in advance. The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Center: Helps takes burdens off caregivers Promotes safe, healthy, and caring environments for children. Provides a variety of growth oriented opportunities for children, when available. The aim of the Grandparent Raising Grandchildren Center is to build a strong foundation for the guidance and education of custodial grandparents and their grandchildren that develop healthy attitudes for coping with their situations.
Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday / 8:30am - 4:30pm
Eligibility Requirements: Grandparents or other relatives who are raising their grandchildren/or other relatives.
Intake Procedure: Walk-in, telephone, and complete a survey.
