The Boise Convention & Visitors Bureau operates two Visitor Information Centers which are completely manned by Volunteers. Our volunteers help visitors learn about the things to see and do so they get the most from their from their trip to the Boise area. This gives visitors a reason to stay in the Boise area a little longer...thus enhancing the city's economy through tourism promotion.

Description:
Are you looking for a fun and rewarding volunteer experience? Visitor Information Center Volunteers are ambassadors for Boise – meeting and greeting interesting visitors from around the world and folks from our own community.

Boise has two conveniently-located Visitor Information Centers, downtown on the Grove and on Vista Ave., which maintain a library of maps and promotional material on Boise’s many attractions, hotels, restaurants, shops, the arts, sightseeing, nightlife, special events and more (so you don’t have to be a walking encyclopedia to be a volunteer). Volunteers give directions (resources are provided), answer questions (we provide you with the answers), and recommend things visitors can do while visiting the area. Training is provided and volunteers network with fellow volunteers and participate in regular field-trips of the region.

Be a part of the excitement of tourism! New volunteers are always welcome to join our incredibly enthusiastic, fun and friendly team. Volunteers can contribute a few hours, once a week or more. 3½-hour, one-day-a-week shifts are currently available at our Vista Center – 1222 Vista Ave. (near Kootenai). We always have a need for "floaters," Volunteers who can be on-call to substitute periodically at either Center. You can even share a shift with your partner or friend – and have a great time while serving your community!

For more information or to sign up for our ongoing volunteer program, call Anne Chambers at (208) 344-7777.
