Lutheran Community services provides a wide variety of services to adults, adolescents, children, families, schools, businesses, congregations, neighborhoods and communities. Our programs are tailored to address specific needs. Services are: *Family, Marriage and Individual Counseling Services with an emphasis on children, adolescents and families. Therapists have experience working with a wide variety of issues including: abuse/neglect - physical, sexual, and emotional, overcoming trauma, depression, co-dependency, addictions, divorce, family conflict, anger management, domestic violence, grief/loss and women's issues. We are unique in that we have staff trained in specific techniques of art and expressive therapies which are particularly effective for trauma in adults and children. *Rising STAARS (Students Taking and Active Role) is a unique after school substance abuse prevention program, offering youth hands-on opportunities for learning, strength building and community service. the program helps young people build positive community connections and make good life choices. Rising STAARs is offered in both rural and urban communities across Southwest Idaho, primarily focusing on Youth ages 9-14. *Strengthening Families is a parenting program designed to address the needs of both parents and youth. This is one of the unique parent education programs that offers services to both parents and children so all parties involved can learn the skills they need for the family to thrive. *Alzheimer's support: Alzheimers can be a devastating illness, not only for the diagnosed patient, but also for family members. Partnering agencies in our community make it possible through the Stand By You program, for families and individuals to access a variety of free-of-charge services. Services available include: Ongoing counseling services, educational services, respite for caregivers and case management.
History:
LCS has been active in the Treasure Valley since the early 1980's. Our parent organization has over 50 years of high quality social service provision to communities across the northwest. We have grown from a small single counseling office to now providing a large menu of offerings to people across the Treasure Vally into rural Idaho from Council/Cambridge to Glenns Ferry and multiple locations in between.
