To prevent men's violence against women by promoting positive male behaviors and challenging beliefs that perpetuate violence.
Description:
Men Today, Men Tomorrow (MT2) is a statewide organization dedicated to ending men's violence. Men commit well over 90% of violent crimes towards women. However, we know that most men are not violent. Furthermore, all men can be a part of the solution to end men's violence against women. Through community events, projects, and campaigns, MT2 seeks to empower ALL men to become active bystanders, and healthy role models to stop violence at its source.
History:
Men Today, Men Tomorrow was conceptualized by the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence in 2004 as a statewide organization encouraging community leaders to mentor and educate young men about the benefits of positive, non-violent behavior. ICASDV formed a steering committee of local businessmen, police officers, city officials, and statewide organization members to determine the strategic plan, mission statement and goals for MT2. Since then, MT2 has established pilot sites in Boise, Coeur d'Alene, and Pocatello, with the hopes of many others to come.
