Our mission is to help reduce inadequate housing and living conditions by building simple, decent, affordable housing and selling the homes to qualified, low income families with a no-interest loan.
Description: We provide a hand up, not a hand out, to deserving families since they actually participate in the building of their new home. Our partner families pay a principal only mortgage back to Canyon County Habitat to enable us to build more homes. By providing a permanent, safe shelter, we are helping each family to strengthen their family unit, thus we are helping to build a better community one family at a time.
History: Our affiliate started in 1995 in Caldwell, Idaho. To date, we have built eight homes in Canyon County, thus making a huge difference in the lives of eight Canyon County families. We anticipate growing at a quicker rate, which will enable us to build more homes, since we now have a full time director and a permanent office location.
