Project PATCH is passionately committed to reaching out to at-risk young people throughout the United States and Canada to help them realize their self-worth and potential, as well as the significance of God's love to them.
Description:
At our Garden Valley, ID residential treatment center, healing takes place through counseling, time in nature, education, recreation, and community service. A loving, professional staff reminds the teens that they can choose to make their lives better. It is our goal to help every young person, regardless of financial ability. Therefore we rely on our community to help us provide scholarships. Project PATCH is a proven program accredited by Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, by the Idaho Department of Education, and by the Joint Commission of Accreditation on Health Care Organizations (JCAHO.org). It is also licensed with Department of Health and Welfare as residential treatment and wilderness program facility.
History:
Project PATCH began in 1984 as a foster placement service, by Tom and Bonnie Sanford. The ranch began operations in 1990. Between 1993 and 2005, over 350 troubled and at-risk teens have been helped through our accredited program. We have been recognized by numerous professionals as a leading program in our field. An evaluation by the Department of Psychology at Boise State University stated that "By the parents own ratings, there were statistically significant increases in...every desirable behavior (and) decreases in every undesirable behavior after their children completed the intervention. (Having) conducted a number of similar evaluations, we rarely see desirable changes on every index of performance."
