Description:
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure® Series is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. Since its origination in Dallas in 1983, the Komen Race for the Cure® Series has grown from one local race with 800 participants to a national series of 109 Races- with the Boise Race being one of them.
History:
This year marks the 8th anniversary of Komen’s Boise Race for the Cure. In 1999 6,600 men, women and children participated. Last year nearly 10,300 people participated. Since the first runner crossed the finish line, the Boise Race has raised more than $ 1.1 million dollars to fight breast cancer.
