Ride for Joy is a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic riding lessons for Treasure Valley children with disabilities.
Description:
Therapeutic riding increases muscle strength and improves posture, balance, coordination, sensory integration, and communication. Therapeutic riding also encourages confidence and promotes self-esteem.
History:
Ride for Joy was established in April, 2007 after operating as a pilot program of the Sagebrush Equine Training Center for 8 years. In 2007 we provided 668 lessons to 80 children, a dramatic increase over the approximately 30 children served annually in prior years. Volunteers are a critical part of our team and many more are needed to continue to grow and expand the number of children served.
