Description:
Saint Alphonsus - Four Rivers Hospice is a state licensed and federally certified hospice agency that provides service to Ada, Canyon, Owyhee and Payette counties. Our Hospice program offers services to individuals, who are terminally ill and to their families. Our goal is to promote comfort and quality of life (palliative care) through pain management, symptom control, spiritual care, personal loss and the use of volunteers. The care is delivered by a team of trained professionals as well as the "HEART" of our team, specially trained volunteers.

History:
Saint Alphonsus-Four Rivers Hospice was first organized in 1986 at West Valley Medical Center, in Caldwell, Idaho, by a group of individuals interested in providing terminal care options for patients in Canyon County and the surrounding areas. In 1998, HCA, which owns the West Valley Center, sold their Home Health and Hospice Agency to Integricare, an independently owned company, based in Connecticut. We then became known as Four Rivers Home Health and Hospice and moved to the Boise area, as it was more centrally located to our full area service. In 2006 Saint Alphonsus and IntegriCare merged our Home Health agencies and added Four Rivers Hospice. On September 1, 2007, IntegriCare sold its interest to Amedisys, Inc., the 2nd leading Home Health Agency and Hospice in the United States. Saint Alphonsus and staff are very excited about this venture with Amedisys.
