The Big Brothers Big Sisters Vision is successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools, and stronger communities for all. The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with proven results.
Description:
Each of us remembers the adults, other than our parents, who brought a little magic into our lives. Every single child can benefit from the additional caring and insight a "Big" offers, and the value their shared experience creates. Be part of the nation's leading youth mentoring organization. Be part of something BIG!
History:
We offer several different programs: Community program: See your Little 2-3 times a month doing activities you both enjoy. Catch a ballgame, share some ice cream, or fly a kite. The possibilities are endless! School-Based program: Remember recess? School lunches? Go back to elementary school once a week while making a difference in the life of a child. YMCA Site Program: Mentor a child at one of the YMCA locations every other week in the evening. Spend your time together rock climbing, swimming, playing basketball...and much more! Boys & Girls Club: Mentor a child at the Nampa or Ada County Boys & Girls Club once a week while you play foosball, do a puzzle, or bake cookies in the kitchen!
