Description:
The ACWC is dedicated to promoting and providing quality arts programing in Wayne County. The ACWC offers year-round exhibits that are free and open to the public, art classes for children and adults, public art projects, and outreach programs designed to reach all citizens in our county. The ACWC has nine affiliate groups that include; Center Stage Theatre, StageStruck, Goldsboro Ballet, Goldsboro Multicultural Arts Advocates, III Century Singers, Starlight Dance Band, Wayne Community Concerts, NC Symphony-Wayne Chapter, Goldsboro Area Writers' Club.
History:
The Arts Council was organized November 1963. The Arts Council of Wayne County, as we know it today, is the result of a merger between Community Arts Council and the Goldsboro Art League. This merger was accomplished during 1980-1981, the result of a move on the part of both to coordinate all arts programs more efficiently and economically. In January 2003 the Council moved into its new location at the corner of Ash Street and Spence Avenue
