The Goldsboro Jackie Robinson Baseball League is an educational program that uses baseball and baseball activities as teaching tools to teach children basic life skills and values that educate, structure, and guide youth in moral and social development. This free baseball league is targeted towards any boy or girl ages 5-15 who have a desire to learn and play the game of baseball. Our baseball/lifeskills coaches teach a basic values and skills cirriculum that centers around Jackie's Nine values: Courage, Determination, Teamwork, Persistence, Integrity, Citizenship, Justice, Commitment, and Excellence and 42 lifeskills to equip youth with the tools necessary to make sound value based moral decisions.

About Us:
Teaching Empowerment, Advocating Mentorship, Making A Difference, Achieving Together, Encouraging Service, is an advocate for the development and education of the children and youth of Wayne County. We believe that all children are "at risk" and need certain value based protective factors in place to support and foster healthy development. We are rooted in the principles of learning what works, securing resources to test what works, and organizing and supporting the public and private stakeholders who can act on what works.
Our Mission:
To catalyze a partnership with the City of Goldsboro and Wayne County, the philanthropic community and the city and county's business, non-profit,churches, faith based community and civic leadership to design and implement a successful youth education and development strategy for all "at risk" youth and establish programs that share common values and compliment each other in the development and education of youth.

History:
The Goldsboro Jackie Robinson Baseball League started five years ago as a grassroots effort by local citizens who responded to Mayor Al King's vision of providing baseball for children in the city of Goldsboro. Participation in this free league has gone from 4 teams 5 years ago to over 200 kids and 13 teams this past year. Still a grassroots efforts, Goldsboro JRBL is driven by a core of people who believe in their roles as adults to mentor, guide and teach our youth.
