We are a non-profit organization whose funding is solely based on donations from the members of the community. Our volunteers help to prevent the deaths of or furry friends by inhibiting over-population with the following committees and functions: Communications, Education, Fund raisers/Events, Membership/ Volunteers, Publicity, Spay/ Neuter program and we will be helping the new animal shelter with their foster and volunteer programs.
Description:
Communications: Supporting members of our community by giving helpful information and maintaining adoption & lost/ found lists Education: Providing local schools and learning facilities with information about the humane treatment of animals. Fund raisers/ Events: Supporting our goals by organizing and holding activities such as contests, dog washes, pet photos and yard sales. Memberships/ Volunteers: Expanding the effectiveness of our organization through recruiting individuals who are dedicated to compassion. Publicity: Establishing a presence in our community by distributing newsletters, announcements and maintaining our website. Spay/ Neuter Program: Assisting pet owners in our community by providing low-cost sterilization of cats and dogs to qualifying families. Foster program: Loving people and homes willing to foster an adoptable animal from our shelter that has run out of time. You would take care of the animal while an adoptive family is searched for.
History:
After our reformation in 1985, we have continued to serve the community with our programs, awareness and education. We have been fighting for a new shelter for several years, and the city just broke ground this month! We will continue to support the cities efforts by raising money for the new shelter and helping with their foster and volunteer programs.
