The mentoring program matches adults with students in our school system in a one-on one relationship. A mentor inspires hopes and dreams and makes a difference in the life of a child.
Description:
The mentoring program matches up responsible adults with a child who meet together for one hour per week in the schools. The role of a mentor is friend, positive role model, confidant, and supporter, to a child. Mentoring has been proven to be the most successful program to increase student success.A mentor goes through a comprehensive training program, the program offers an extensive support system.
History:
The mentoring program was founded19 years ago as a joint effort between the Greater Bristol Chamber of Commerce and the Bristol Board of Education to use the time and talent of our community to positively impact the lives of our children and increase student achievement.
