The Greater Bristol VNA's Mission Statement is, "Quality of Life through excellence in Home Health Care.
We believe that all patients have a right to live and to die with dignity and respect in their homes and that it is our responsibility to provide supportive care for the client and his/her family according to their individual needs and wishes.
Description:
The Greater Bristol Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) is an independent, non-profit, certified Home Health Care Agency.
We provide care, on a part-time basis, to residents of the Greater Bristol area who are in need of Nursing, Home Health Aide, Physical, Speech, or Occupational Therapy and Medical Social Serivices.
Our Registered Professional Nurses administer treatments per physicians' orders such as injections, dressings, and irrigations. They provide nursing rehabilitation and instruction on self care. They also coordinate care, communicate with physicians, plan for the provision of other services, and identify and refer the patient to other agencies as needed.
Our Registered Professional Therapists provide therapy for rehabilitation.
Our Social Workers provide counseling in the home during trying times for those with problems relation to illness.
Our Home Health Aides provide assistance with hygiene including bathing, grooming and light housekeeping.
Hospice Services are offered to the community to meet the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families in the final stages of a terminal illness.
History:
The Greater Bristol VNA has provided home health services to the community since 1908. Our 94 years of experience enables us understand the complex needs of a changing community by providing a broad spectrum of health and social services to all ages.
