The museum provides extraordinary learning and rich play experiences that help young children prepare for their future.

The Imagine Nation Museum is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation owned and operated by the Family Center of Bristol, an agency of the United Way of West Central Connecticut.
The Family Center provides a safe and nurturing environment where children and families can reach their highest potential regardless of race, creed, or financial circumstances. The museum is committed to promoting life long learners though discovery and exploration.

Description:
The Imagine Nation Museum is a state of the art 23,00 sq, foot children's museum with many interactive hands-on exhibits geared for children ages 10 and under and their caregivers. Children and families can explore the latest technology, art, science, and cultural experiences. The museum is also is home to a National Association of the Education of Young Children accredited child care program for infants-
preschool children.

The museum features an original 1940's soda fountain that serves ice cream treats and showcases a wide variety of family entertainment in our lobby.

We offer extensive educational classes and workshops, family special events, scout badges, birthday parties, and school field trips.

History:
The Family Center has been providing service to the community for over 79 years. In the beginning, its mission was to help young girls to be good homemakers. The Family Center has hence evolved into one of greater Bristol's oldest and largest youth development organizations. The Family Center provides core programming in creative arts, recreation, social services, child care and programs for children with special needs. We have met the challenge of providing more program space by constructing a magnificent building for the Family Center's Imagine Nation Children's Museum. The museum is a labor of love with funding from donations, from companies, and individuals. The Imagine Nation Museum is a natural outgrowth of the Family Center's successful children and family programming. With this addition we can dramatically increase our services to children in the state of Connecticut and throughout the nation.
