Volunteer Centers serve as the key resource for volunteer involvement in a community--a catalyst for volunteer action and knowledge leader about volunteering. The Volunteer Center of the United Way of Yellowstone County is a member of the Points of Light Foundation and the Volunteer Center National Network. Members meet standards for membership and engage in activities in four core areas: Connecting People with Opportunities to Serve, Building the Capacity for Effective Local Volunteering, Promoting Volunteering and Participating in Strategic Initiatives that Mobilize Volunteers to Meet Local Community Needs.
